DJ Simmons

Bio

D.J Simmons is a Bajan Man of Arts. He is a multiple award winner in NIFCA Theatre, Literary and Music including Gold, and the inaugural winner of the Bruce St. John Award. He has represented his country proudly overseas and during Carifesta XII, XIII and XIV in Haiti, Barbados and Trinidad, and was part of the Pic O De Crop title winning performance in 2017 with Ian Webster.

He has also produced multiple books and an album through his Dojangles Publishing company. D.J continues to support Bajan culture sharing his skills as a writing tutor, radio announcer and judge for Crop Over competitions and Spoken Word slams. D.J also is the Co-Founder of the Bajan arts and culture web platform GineOn.com, responsible for the annual Gine On People’s Choice Awards.

Whether through prose or poetry, this animated storyteller provides a song for every season and a rhyme for every reason.
